Guntur: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday made it unequivocally clear that no leader in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will be given any position or responsibility without the approval of grassroots-level workers and the public. He asserted that individuals lacking mass acceptance will not find space within the party structure.
Addressing a constituency-level TDP workers’ review meeting in Ponnekallu village under Tadikonda constituency, Naidu outlined a clear roadmap for party leaders and cadres. He called for collective responsibility and coordination among workers to ensure the continuity of TDP’s governance in the coming years. Only those who are accessible to the public and contribute consistently to strengthening the party will be considered for leadership roles, he said.
The Chief Minister warned against complacency, stating that leaders who remain detached from grassroots activity will not be tolerated. He urged all MLAs and leaders to take personal responsibility for strengthening the party in their respective booths, noting that such engagement will provide direct insight into ground realities. Naidu cited his own constituency, Kuppam, as a model where he has been following this approach.
Sharp Attack on YSR Congress
Naidu also launched a scathing attack on the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), branding it a “fake party.” He accused the opposition of attempting to link the Vivekananda Reddy murder case to the TDP government and of politicizing the accidental death of Pastor Praveen Kumar. He condemned the use of partisan media to spread false narratives and warned that strict action would be taken against those indulging in malicious propaganda.
“The public has given us a mandate to put an end to dirty politics,” he said, asserting that those responsible for wrongdoing will be brought to justice. He reaffirmed that the new government would uphold complete transparency in policies related to liquor and sand, without room for compromise.
Gujarat as a Governance Model
Emphasizing the need for political stability to drive state development, Naidu pointed to Gujarat as a model where the BJP has won five consecutive terms. He expressed confidence that TDP, too, would remain in power for the long term in Andhra Pradesh. Reflecting on the past, he said that had the party won in 2019, Amaravati would have been a fully developed capital by now. He reiterated that every decision taken by his administration would be aimed at securing a better future for the state.
Support for Party Cadre
The Chief Minister praised the unwavering dedication of party workers during the challenging 2019–2024 period and assured full support for their families. He highlighted that TDP is the only party offering ₹5 lakh insurance to the families of deceased workers. To strengthen the party at the grassroots level, he announced that booth, unit, and cluster-wise monitoring systems would be implemented, and encouraged leaders and cadre to enhance their skills.
Naidu reiterated the party’s commitment to empowering women and underscored that Backward Classes (BCs) remain the backbone of the TDP.
Welfare Schemes from Next Month
Naidu assured that all eligible beneficiaries would receive welfare benefits without discrimination. He announced that flagship schemes such as Thalliki Vandhanam, Annadata Sukhibhava, and Matsyakara Bharosa would be launched from next month. He concluded by reaffirming that the welfare of party workers, organizational strengthening, and the state’s overall development are the core objectives of the TDP government.
