Varalaxmi Sarathkumar recently tied the knot with Nicholai Sachdev, a Mumbai-based art gallerist, in an intimate wedding held on July 3 in Krabi, Thailand.After their wedding ceremony, Varalaxmi, along with her husband Nicholai Sachdev and her father Sarathkumar, convened a press conference on July 15, marking their first public appearance together since tying the knot.
Addressing the media, Nicholai introduced himself and apologized for not knowing Tamil, saying that he only knew a few words and that he would learn within a few months.
He revealed his plans for changing his name and said, “She said that she wants to change her name after marriage. Of course, she’d never lose Sarathkumar in the middle, but she wanted to have Varalaxmi Sarathkumar Sachdev. But I will not have that.
He continued, “She will always remain and retain her name as Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. I will be taking her name, and I will be known as Nicholai Varalaxmi Sarathkumar Sachdev, and so will my daughter. So Sarathkumar and Varalaxmi’s legacy will live on forever. That’s what I am going to do for my wife.” He also stated that he was not her first love or favorite love, but only movies are her first love, and she will continue doing the films.
