Education Minister Nara Lokesh is working hard to bring about far reaching changes in the next six months to improve the standards in government schools and junior colleges. A comprehensive dashboard named ‘One School-One App’ is being prepared to know the actual situation school-wise.
It has been decided to hold another mega parent-teacher meeting on the last working day of the academic year. The Education Department has taken steps to provide Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishna Vidyarthi Mitra kits to students of classes 1 to 12 on the very first day of the resumption of schools in the state.
Intermediate students will be provided with textbooks, notebooks, competitive exam material and practical records. School-wise plans are being prepared to improve the star rating of schools. From the 2025-26 academic year, radical changes are being made in the curriculum from one to intermediate.
The intermediate syllabus will be changed along with the question paper format. The Vidyashakti program will be fully implemented in collaboration with IIT Madras to provide additional teaching to backward students and children.
Along with the effective implementation of the academic calendar, efforts are being made to implement better teaching methods by improving digital infrastructure and integrating physical and virtual education. Efforts are being made to provide dual certifications to vocational education students in intermediate.
These will be provided in collaboration with the National Skill Education Qualification Prem Work and the National Council for Vocational Education and Training. WhatsApp groups will be formed with students, parents and teachers to provide information on academic details. The government aims to solve technical problems and allocate 100% odd numbers.
Games-related equipment will be provided to improve sports skills among students. Computer labs will be set up in all government schools in the state. Mid-day meals will be implemented for intermediate students in 475 colleges from January 1. To increase the pass percentage, mentorship is being implemented in all colleges by connecting every 10-15 students with teaching and non-teaching staff.
