State Minister for Education and IT, Nara Lokesh, has expressed serious concern over the recent incident in Nuzvid, where a significant number of students fell ill after consuming contaminated food. As a result, the Minister has made the decision to remove the Nuzvid IIIT Director from their position due to negligence in ensuring food safety for students.
In a bid to rebuild trust among the students and their parents, Minister Lokesh has taken decisive action by appointing a three-member committee to oversee the operations at Nuzvid IIIT. The committee will be composed of College Education Commissioner Pola Bhaskar, Higher Education Department In-Charge Chairman Rammohan Rao, and Eluru Collector K. Vetri Selvi.
The Minister has directed the supervisory committee to formulate a time-bound action plan to address concerns related to food quality, minor repairs, sensitive issues, and complaints regarding medical supervision.
Minister Lokesh also stressed that in the event of any further incidents, the committee is to promptly bring the matter to the government’s attention and implement necessary measures for immediate resolution.
