Education Minister Nara Lokesh said that the government is planning to bring a special syllabus to facilitate the coordination of education and sports for athletes participating in tournaments in the state of Andhra Pradesh. He revealed this while responding to a request made by an athlete in a program called ‘Breaking Boundaries with Nara Lokesh’.
He agreed that there is a need to create a special syllabus for athletes. This decision will be very helpful for students who want to continue their education while excelling in sports. Achieving coordination between education and sports is a big challenge for athletes. Keeping this in mind, Lokesh assured that a decision will be taken soon after discussing the creation of a special syllabus for athletes in schools and colleges.
If this policy is implemented, he is hopeful that athletes will not lag behind in school education when they go for their training and tournaments. Moreover, he said that they will get the opportunity to continue their sports and studies equally. He said that the government is committed to promoting young sportspersons by providing special syllabus and facilities for sportspersons.
Lokesh said that this policy will identify students with sports talent and provide them with the necessary support. Thus, sports talent in the state will get an opportunity to develop further and excel at the national and international levels. This decision may help in transforming Andhra Pradesh into a sports hub in the future, he added.
Meanwhile, Minister Lokesh inaugurated the country’s first advanced smart kitchen at C.K. Dinne MPP High School in Kadapa district. This new kitchen has been built with state-of-the-art technology, which is designed with the aim of providing more hygienic and nutritious mid-day meals to students.
On this occasion, he virtually inaugurated five more smart kitchens in Kamalapuram, Jammalamadugu and Kadapa areas. These six kitchens will provide mid-day meals to more than 12,000 students. He announced that a total of 33 smart kitchens will be set up in Kadapa district by December.
Once the project is completed, 1,24,689 students in the district will have access to clean and tasty meals. The government said that the program prioritizes the health and nutritional needs of students.
