Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh dismissed concerns that the three-language policy would be unfair to mother tongues. He revealed that the NDA government is working to strengthen mother tongues. Speaking at the India Today’s Conclave in New Delhi, he said that the linguistic diversity in India is what is hindering it.
He said that he does not think that Hindi will be forced. He said that there are many job opportunities available in countries like Germany and Japan for nurses and home care workers. Therefore, he explained that Indians should also learn those languages. Lokesh emphasized that learning multiple languages is necessary in the modern world.
The anchor asked if there would be any negative impact on AP due to Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad cities. Lokesh answered this in his own style. “Tamil Nadu may have Chennai, Karnataka has Bangalore and Telangana has Hyderabad cities. But Andhra Pradesh has Chandrababu Naidu”, he said.
Lokesh is confident that the state will develop under Chandrababu’s leadership and he considers himself a TDP worker. Lokesh commented that it is very difficult to be the son of the Chief Minister.
Responding to the issue of Lok Sabha constituencies delimitation, he said that he agrees that it will have an impact on the states that have controlled population growth. He said that he will always support the NDA. He explained that if there is any problem, we will talk as a partner and solve it. However, Lokesh deplored that many states are using this issue as their election agenda.
Lokesh said that illegal sand mining took place during the YSRCP regime, and a case is also going on in the Supreme Court. He emphasized that they are supporting the NDA unconditionally. He said that he chose the HRD department, and there are strong teachers’ unions in it. He said that his wife will pay his credit card bill.
Minister Nara Lokesh expressed hope that India will win the Champion Trophy final. He said that to have opposition status in the Legislative Assembly, 10 percent of the total strength of the House should be there. He said that he is a person who respects the law and asked how they would violate the rules of Parliament and the Legislative Assembly.
