On Sunday, two prominent BRS leaders, Chevella Lok Sabha member G Ranjith Reddy and Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender, announced their resignation from BRS and joined the Congress party. They were warmly received by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, alongside Deepadas Munshi, who oversees Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee affairs. Ranjith Reddy conveyed his appreciation to party president K Chandrashekhar Rao in his resignation letter, citing the party leadership’s support and the opportunity provided. He explained that his decision to depart stemmed from the current political landscape in the state. Nagender, known for his frequent party switches, had previously been associated with the Congress from 1994 to 2004, later joining the Telugu Desam Party before returning to the Congress and then aligning with BRS (formerly TRS) during its rise to power. He had served as a minister in the cabinets of YSR and K Rosaiah in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.
