The TDP leadership is said to be shocked with the massive support former AP Fibernet chairman GV Reddy is getting from the party cadre after his resignation from the office and also from the primary membership of the party.
Though he is not a senior leader, who joined the party a few years ago from Congress, knowing about his tireless struggle against YCP’s anarchistic regime, he is getting unexpected sympathies from the party circles.
With GV Reddy’s resignation, the entire party cadre became one, and thousands of postings came on social media in his support, which led to the TDP leadership being in self-defense. The cadre shouted that the party should not give up on such people.
Probably for the first time the party hardcore supporters are directly questioning the attitude of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his minister-son Nara Lokesh for always supporting officials, victimizing hardcore supporters of the party.
Interestingly, Fibernet former MD Dinesh Kumar, who was the center of the entire controversy that forced GV Reddy to quit, was a nominee of Lokesh and in constant touch with him. Due to Lokesh support only, he was careless towards GV Reddy and even failed to address concerns expressed by him.
Even after explaining the situation to Lokesh in person, besides Chief Secretary and also the Secretary, as he found no improvement in the attitude of Dinesh Kumar, GV Reddy said to be forced to go to the media.
The party leadership is said to be under pressure now to pacify GV Reddy and take steps to continue his active role in the party. As a result, party sources said that the leadership is considering taking up damage control measures to ensure the return of GV Reddy in an honorable way.
It seems that they are ready to give him another important assignment. As already the Election Commission of India has given a schedule to elect 5 MLCs from MLAs, a suggestion to accommodate him as an MLC is presently before the party leadership. Already some leaders taking initiative started negotiations with GV Reddy to pacify him and ensure his active role in the party.
