Tollywood actor Manchu Mohan Babu was embroiled in a controversy when he attacked a media journalist belonging to TV9 in a fit of anger a couple of days ago. The video in which Mohan Babu was seen hitting the journalists with a mike went viral all over and triggered widespread backlash from the media fraternity. Journalist Ranjith was severely injured in this incident and was immediately rushed to hospital for treatment.
As the incident sparked huge controversy, Mohan Babu has tendered an unconditional apology and expressed deep regret for his actions. He released a formal letter today morning to address the issue and expressed his pain for the unfortunate incident. In the letter the management of TV9, Mohan Babu mentioned that he was unable to respond after the incident as he was hospitalized for the last 48 hours. He accepted that he lost composure due to chaos like situation at his house and and resulted in injuring the journalist.
He expressed sincere apology for causing extreme distress and pain over the unfortunate incident. He also wished speedy recovery of the injured employee and accepted that his anger has led to the anguish of the esteemed organisation. In his letter, Mohan Babu claimed that anti-social elements tried to barge into his house and hurt those who were present there. So, he lost his patience during the incident.
The controversy stems from the family feud between Mohan Babu and his step son Manchu Manoj Kumar over property disputes. Both Manoj and Mohan Babu filed complaints on each other a few days ago and this led to a public altercation between them. Manoj tried to enter the Jalpally farm house where Mohan Babu was residing. Media personnel also accompanied Manoj at the venue and Mohan Babu lost his cool during the confrontation and attacked the journalist.
Whether TV9 accepts this public apology from Mohan Babu or continues to fight against him through legal route needs to be seen.
