Indian Prime Minister Modi has set his determination on expanding the BJP in its weakest Southern part of India. He is speculated to make a bold move for the upcoming parliamentary elections that would increase his fan base down South.
Going into the details, Malai Malar of the Tamil Media recently reported that Prime Minister Modi would contest for the Parliament from the holy place of Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu. It also reported that the BJP leaders of Tamil Nadu are positive about this movie which would impress the Southern Indians where BJP is purely lacking. BJP already lost its only state in hand, Karnataka recently and it is trying to increase its footprint in the two Telugu States. Given the fact that Kerala is completely out of hand for its communist government, Modi has chosen the Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu and used the infamous Ram Sethu along with Lord Ram’s sentiment to win both the constituency and hearts of Southern Indians.
This is indeed a challenging move if Modi really dares to contest from Rameswaram because the constituency is filled with a majority of Muslim voters and the local MP who is from the party Indian Union Muslims League is now in an alliance with the ruling party DMK. Needless to say, the local Congress vote bank is also decent and these factors make Modi’s loss, an inevitable one.
