BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha vehemently denied any involvement in the alleged Delhi liquor policy scandal, portraying herself as a victim of unjust arrest. In a letter penned from Tihar jail and addressed to the Rouse Avenue court judge, she pleaded for justice, asserting her innocence. Kavitha asserted that she had not gained any financial advantage as claimed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), emphasizing that the case was orchestrated to tarnish her political reputation.

She maintained that she had fully cooperated with the investigating authorities, attending all inquiries and providing necessary information, including bank account details and mobile phones. However, she lamented the media sensationalism surrounding the case, accusing it of aiming to besmirch her political image on social platforms. Kavitha claimed that her privacy had been violated when her phone number was aired on television channels.

Alleging political vendetta, she suggested that if she were to join the BJP, the trial in the case would cease. Kavitha condemned what she perceived as biased targeting of opposition figures by central agencies like the ED and CBI, claiming that over 95% of their cases were against opposition leaders. She warned against threats made by BJP leaders to opposition MPs, insinuating coercion to silence dissent. Despite these challenges, Kavitha pledged full cooperation with the investigation into the liquor scandal, maintaining her innocence and asserting her commitment to clearing her name.
