Khammam: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy have alleged misappropriation of public funds during the previous ‘Bharosa’ administration. Ministers Bhatti Vikramarka, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Tummala Nageswara Rao conducted a review meeting at the secretariat to assess irrigation projects in the combined Khammam district.

“We are meticulously reviewing every project in the state. Today, our discussion centered around the progress of Sitarama and other irrigation projects in the combined Khammam district. Similar to various irrigation projects, there has been a significant scandal, resulting in the misappropriation of a substantial amount of public funds under the guise of these projects. The Sitarama project, initially comprised of Rajiv Dummuguda and Indira Sagar, raises questions about their amalgamation. Despite substantial spending, with the cost ballooning to Rs 18,000 crore, the project has not yielded the promised results. KCR, the previous CM, misled the Assembly on the Sitarama project, and we have identified discrepancies in the utilization of public money,” Uttam Kumar Reddy asserted during a media briefing after the meeting.
