Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu faced an embarrassing situation when media persons from Thiruvuru of Krishna district met him on Saturday and complained against local TDP MLA Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao. Already, the party leadership is facing headache from his controversial statements from time to time and irritating activities.
They reported some evidence to Chandrababu that they were being humiliated and threatened by his party MLA and urged the Chief Minister to take action against him. The Chief Minister assured them that he knows everything in this context and will solve the problem.
In fact, Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao came into limelight through the Amaravati farmers’ movement. He also played a key role in running the farmers’ movement for four years. In this order, he came into close contact with TDP chief Chandrababu. Thus he got a ticket from Tiruvuru in the first list of TDP alliance.
Due to wave in support of the TDP-led alliance, he won easily from Tiruvuru and entered the state assembly for the first time. But after winning as MLA, Kolikapudi’s aggression is causing problems for the party. Soon after elections, his attempt to demolish a house of an YCP leader, in the name of speedy justice created uproar and Chandrababu was forced to intervene and reprimanded him for his aggressive nature.
Local TDP leaders are also making serious allegations against him. Chittela sarpanch Thummalapalli Srinivasa Rao accused him of harassing him. Now, the media has directly complained to the Chief Minister. Now it has become interesting to know what decision TDP chief and CM Chandrababu will take.
On the other hand, the feedback from TDP sources also had a negative impact on his performance. Within three and half months, local TDP cadres also expressed their discontent towards him. The opinions collected through IVRS from the party cadre also indicate that his attitude is causing a lot of harm to the interests of the party in the constituency.
