Mani Ratnam lauds Rajamouli for opening gates

Creative director Mani Ratnam’s prestigious sequel ‘Ponniyin Selvan-2’ is gearing up for its release in all major languages of South India. The team has started promotions in all the important releasing states.

The team organized a promotional event with the Press in Hyderabad to create buzz among Telugu movie lovers. Talking to the media, none other than the top-notch director Mani Ratnam thanked the visionary director SS Rajamouli for opening the gates of Pan-Indian movies with Baahubali. He claimed that Ponniyin Selvan is made in two parts only because Rajamouli dared to make Baahubali in two parts and scored blockbusters. Inspired by Rajamouli, Mani Ratnam declared that he dared to make PS in two parts and with a grand scale. He backed his claims by stating that he tried to make PS twice in 1994 and in 2001 but both times, the Tamil director didn’t get enough backing.

Ponniyin Selvan-2 is releasing across India on the 28th of April with a huge star cast like Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, and other celebrities. The first part ended as the biggest blockbuster in Tamil alone and almost got rejected in all other languages. Yet the team is trying their best to promote part two since it’s less than one week from the release date. AR Rahman has scored the music and background for this huge project.
