Seasoned Telugu actor Manchu Mohan Babu’s family has long been embroiled in various controversies. The rift between Mohan Babu’s son Manoj Kumar with the rest of the family members often made headlines in the past. The family feud now escalated further as both Mohan Babu and Manoj filed complaints on each other over physical abuse and illegal occupation of their farm house in Jalpally, Hyderabad.
While the exact reasons for the long-standing rift between the Manchu’s are yet to know, the entire saga has exposed the overaction of the Telugu media and the inaction by the police department. As this is an internal family issue between Mohan Babu and his son Manoj, media has no role to intrude into their privacy and pester them unnecessarily. Also, episodes of physical abuse by bouncers of both Mohan Babu and Manoj on opposite sides are really uncalled for in the presence of police personnel.
Yesterday night, some media personnel crossed the line and barged into Mohan Babu’s farm house along with Manoj. They tried to confront him to seek his response on the infighting in his family. Mohan Babu lost his cool and attacked the journalists with mikes and left them severely injured. This incident has triggered huge backlash from the media fraternity. But, the media overaction to cross the limits of journalism and intrude into the privacy of a person is nothing but a clear misuse of their position.
Meanwhile, the incidents of assualt by bouncers of both Manoj and Mohan Babu exposed the inability of the police department. Both Mohan Babu and Manoj filed complaints and sought police protection. But, there is no action from the police. What is more shocking is that the bouncers of both parties involved in man-handling in the presence of the police personnel.
No matter how the entire episode of Manchu family ends, it has clearly showcased that Media shouldn’t meddle with the internal affairs within a family and the police department should be prompt in its actions when celebrities are involved.
