Review :
“Manamey,” directed by Sriram Adittya and starring Sharwanand and Krithi Shetty, is a delightful rom-com with a hint of drama that stands out for several reasons. Sharwanand’s energetic and humorous performance, complemented by Krithi Shetty’s strong acting and the contributions of the ensemble cast, provides a solid foundation for the film. However, the true highlights are the beautifully captured visuals and the atmospheric music score.
Set primarily in urban London with scenes in the picturesque European countryside, the film offers a rich visual experience. The stunning cinematography captures the essence of these locations, adding a vibrant and appealing aesthetic to the narrative.
Sharwanand, known as the “Charming Star,” captivates viewers in “Manamey” with his portrayal of a playboy who evolves emotionally throughout the film, all while sporting a well-stylized wardrobe. Each meticulously planned frame, with careful attention to mood, props, and lighting, enhances the visual storytelling. Krithi Shetty shines as Subadra, providing a spirited contrast to Sharwanand’s character. Vikram Aditya impresses as little Kushi, while the ensemble cast, including Seerat Kapoor, Ayesha Khan, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Shiva Kandhukuri, Rahul Ravindran, and Sudarshan, enrich the narrative. Together, they make “Manamey” a heartwarming family entertainer.
Sriram Adittya adeptly crafts an engaging story in “Manamey.” Despite successfully conveying its core message, the film’s emotional sequences fall short as it progresses. Stronger writing and a more compelling screenplay were needed to leave a more profound impression on the viewers.
The film boasts top-notch production values, highlighted by Vishnu Sharma’s brilliant cinematography and Hesham Abdul Wahab’s complementary music score, which together enhance the overall appeal.
In summary, “Manamey” presents a charming fusion of romance, comedy, and emotional drama, creating an enjoyable viewing experience. Despite some slight narrative shortcomings, the film’s commendable performances, captivating visuals, and immersive music ensure it remains a worthwhile watch.
