Major Update on ‘Ghajini 2’: Suriya And Aamir Khan To Shoot Simultaneously

Sunday, December 22, 2024

The action-packed thriller ‘Ghajini’ has achieved massive success in both its Tamil and Hindi versions. Inspired by Hollywood director Chirstopher Nolan’s ‘Memento’, the film was helmed by A.R. Murugadoss in both languages. Suriya played the protagonist in the 2005 Tamil original, while Aamir Khan took on the lead role in the 2008 Hindi remake, with Asin playing the female lead in both versions. Both adaptations received high praise for their stellar performances and engaging storylines.

Adding anticipation, a significant update has been revealed on its sequel. In a recent development, speculation has been doing the rounds that acclaimed producer Allu Arvind is considering a sequel to Ghajini. Actor Suriya confirmed this during a recent interview, putting the speculation to rest.

During an interview with Pinkvilla as part of promotions for his upcoming film ‘Kanguva’, Suriya revealed the exciting insights into ‘Ghajini 2’. The actor stated, “After a long time, Allu Aravind Garu came up with that idea (for a sequel) and said will that be possible, and I said definitely, sir, we can think of it. Yes, the talk has started, and it is in process. Ghajini 2 might happen.”

A source revealed that as the trend of Pan-Indian releases increases, remakes of cult classic films starring big actors are becoming less common. Both Suriya and Aamir Khan are excited about ‘Ghajini 2′ but don’t want it labeled as a remake. They are also concerned that the first film that arrives will impact the other. After hearing out both the actors’ concerns, producers Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena decided to shoot both versions simultaneously and release them on the same day.

Fans are excited to hear about the highly anticipated sequel. With the script currently in development, a clearer version of ‘Ghajini 2’ is expected by mid-2025.
