The AP state government is all set to introduce major reforms to boost the real estate and construction sectors in the state. Building permits will be issued through a single window system from December 31. The AP government has taken a key decision to make it easier to obtain building and layout permits without having to go around government departments for building permits.
Minister for Municipal Administration Dr P. Narayana said that planning permits will no longer be required for buildings up to 15 meters in height in AP. The Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has approved the report of the committee on reforms in the town planning department.
Dr Narayana said that necessary steps are being taken to further simplify the permits related to various building constructions in the state from next month 31st and to issue permits through a single window system. He said that clear instructions have been issued to the municipal department on the issue of issuing various permits related to building constructions quickly and easily.
Minister Narayana explained that 7 committees have been formed to examine the building construction permits being implemented in various states and they have studied in 10 states and submitted a report. He said that steps are being taken to obtain all the permits at one place under a single window system as part of the speed of doing business.
Hereafter builders need not wait for months for permits from various departments such as Revenue, Registration and Stamps, Fire Department, as well as mines, railways, and airports near the areas. In this regard, Dr Narayana said that the servers of the respective departments will be integrated with the Municipal Administration Department server.
Minister Narayana revealed that if licensed surveyors apply for building permits online, the permits will be granted in a timely manner. He warned that if any licensed surveyors commit irregularities in the granting of these permits, their licenses will be canceled and legal criminal action will be taken against them. He said that the task force formed for this will also continuously monitor online.
