Mahesh Babu doing it for the first time after 15 years for Trivikram

Superstar Mahesh Babu was once a chain smoker. It took him many years to quit the bad habit. But after taking many resolutions, Mahesh finally gave up smoking in 2010. He even stopped doing scenes involving smoking even though the on-screen characters essayed by him demanded to do so. The last time when Mahesh smoked a cigar was in 2007 in ‘Athidhi’. Before Athidhi, he did it in other films like Okkadu and Pokiri as well.

Now after 15 years, Mahesh is forced to lit up a cigar again for his upcoming film #SSMB28 which is helmed by Trivikram Srinivas. After Athidhi, Mahesh never smoked in his films till now. He was against those scenes and turned down the proposals by his directors. But, Trivikram succeeded in convincing Mahesh as a few scenes in the script warrant for such an act. Mahesh initially refused to Trivikram’s idea. However, he later agreed to bring authenticity to the character and those scenes.

The first look poster of SSMB28 which was unveiled a few days ago featured Mahesh in a mass avatar with a cigar. This clearly hints that he is doing a full length commercial entertainer after a long time. The regular shooting is progressing at a brisk pace and the makers have announced that the film will hit the screens for Sankranti 2024.
