Thalapathy Vijay has given a series of blockbusters over the past few years, and two of the most renowned among them—Master and Leo—were directed by the highly acclaimed director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Both movies generated huge buzz and made a lasting impression among fans, but it was Leo that was planned with a direct sequel in sight.
But with Vijay making his retirement from acting official after his next film Thalapathy 69, fans were left wondering what the future held for these possible sequels. With him set to join full-time politics under his party Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam, the possibility of seeing Vijay in another movie seemed remote.
In an interview that recently went viral, Lokesh Kanagaraj gave a surprise update—while everybody is holding their breath for Leo 2, he himself wishes to direct Master 2. He spoke of his deep emotional attachment to JD, Vijay’s character in Master, terming it as a fun-loving and down-to-earth role which suits the actor’s natural self more.
More thrilling is that Lokesh disclosed he already has a story planned for Master 2. This disclosure has sparked renewed hope among fans, with speculations circulating on whether Vijay could come back one more time to revive the popular JD character.
