Lokesh Alleges ₹400 Crore Gold Purchase Linked to Liquor Scam

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh on Thursday accused former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of failing to develop the state and obstructing those attempting to do so. Speaking at a press conference following his Singapore visit, Lokesh predicted large-scale investments in the state soon.
Addressing the ongoing liquor scam, Lokesh said, “The law will take its own course. Funds moved from Adan Distilleries to PLR Company, owned by YSRCP leader and former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy. If Raj Kesireddy claims the money found at the Hyderabad farmhouse isn’t his, it implies it belongs to Jagan. Only he knows the contents of each seized cash box. How can a liquor company purchase gold worth ₹400 crore? Is gold a raw material for liquor production? If this were political vendetta, would Peddireddy have roamed freely between 2014 and 2019?”
On inter-state relations, Lokesh stressed that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) treats all Telugu people equally. “Some are attempting to incite disputes between Telugu states for political gain. Andhra Pradesh uses only surplus water in the Banakacherla issue and has never hindered Telangana’s development. No permissions were sought while constructing Kaleshwaram. River linking is vital for the nation, and TDP has contributed to Telangana’s progress,” he said.
Lokesh also condemned the protest staged by Minister Savita’s followers at the Kia Motors plant, warning that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to intimidate investors. Commenting on the recent assault on a constable in Nandyal, he said the incident was taken seriously and confirmed that the attacker had already been arrested.
