BJP leader Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy is vying for the Rajampet Lok Sabha seat in Annamayya district. Today, an intriguing scenario unfolded amidst this backdrop.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu paid a visit to Rajampet in a surprising move to support Kiran Kumar Reddy, once his political adversary. Chandrababu actively participated in and addressed the alliance’s campaign gathering in Rajampet, throwing his weight behind Kiran Kumar.
Kiran Kumar Reddy, who previously served as the Assembly Speaker during YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s tenure, had engaged in numerous heated debates with Chandrababu in the Assembly. He also held the position of the last Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh following YSR’s demise, during which there were verbal spats between him and Chandrababu.
In a testament to the transient nature of political alliances, Chandrababu extended his support to Kiran Kumar Reddy in the current election campaign. Addressing the Praja galam meeting, Chandrababu acknowledged Kiran Kumar Reddy’s seasoned political acumen. However, he didn’t miss the chance to criticize CM Jagan, a common target of his ire. Chandrababu emphasized the importance of credibility in politics, accusing CM Jagan of resorting to theatrical tactics during elections, such as the axe incident and kodikathi drama in the previous elections. He cynically remarked on the latest “pebble drama,” insinuating that the wounds inflicted politically were festering rather than healing.
