YSRCP leader and former minister Gudivada Amarnath responded to the controversy surrounding the Rushikonda buildings. He urged TDP leaders to stop speculating about the use of these buildings and to stop portraying them as the residence of Jagan Mohan Reddy. “Our goal was to make Visakhapatnam the executive capital, but many obstacles were created,” he stated. “We planned to govern from Visakhapatnam, and after forming a committee of IAS officers, buildings were constructed in Rushikonda.”
Amarnath pointed out, “If we discuss the misuse of government funds, we need to address what happened between 2014 and 2019. Criticizing now might be seen as sour grapes over losing power.” He emphasized that the Rushikonda buildings can be used for hosting dignitaries such as the president, prime minister, and governor, eliminating the need to accommodate them in private hotels. He concluded by saying there was no need for further comment on the matter and highlighted that the power given by the people should be used to improve governance, not for engaging in misleading activities.
