Hyderabad: “We have unanimously decided that Sonia Gandhi should contest from Telangana. However, you (media) have added the detail that it is from Khammam,” Chief Minister Revanth Reddy remarked with a smile during a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday. He challenged the media to disclose the source of their information and clarified, “We have only resolved that Sonia Gandhi should contest from Telangana. We are committed to that decision.”
Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has already urged the people of Telangana to support Sonia Gandhi unanimously if she chooses to file her nomination from the state. Expressing respect, Revanth Reddy suggested that it would be fitting for local parties not to contest against her if she decides to run. He emphasized, “We believe that none of Telangana’s representatives will stand against Sonia Gandhi” and called for cooperation in her unanimous election.
Responding to a meeting with BRS MLAs, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy assured that he or the deputy chief minister would be available to address the concerns of MLAs regarding their constituencies. He encouraged them to bring forward the issues affecting their constituents, stating, “People rejected the BRS in the assembly elections, and a similar outcome is expected in the Lok Sabha elections. It’s worth recalling that KCR faced a significant defeat in Kamareddy.”
