Kakinada: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National President N Chandrababu Naidu criticized the YSRCP government in Andhra Pradesh for its alleged failure to preemptively address the cyclone’s impact on crops. During his visit to cyclone-affected areas in Bapatla district, Chandrababu Naidu expressed concern over crop losses and claimed that four farmers had taken their lives in a single day. He emphasized the importance of proactive measures, citing his past response during the Hudhud cyclone.
Chandrababu Naidu specifically visited and surveyed the damaged fields in Cherukuru village, Parchur constituency, where he interacted with farmers and listened to their problems. He highlighted the government’s negligence in canal desilting, hindering water drainage, and took a jibe at Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, ridiculing Reddy’s agricultural knowledge with reference to a recent confusion between ‘potatoes’ and ‘onions’.
