As expected, Vijay Devarakonda and Samantha starrer Kushi embarked on a phenomenal start at the USA Box Office. The walks-ins for Thursday premieres are quite sensational and the romantic entertainer is on track to emerge as the biggest opener in Vijay Devarakonda’s career.
Going by the trade estimates, Kushi has grossed more than $ 450K as of this writing. It is marching towards the magical half-a-million-dollar mark by the end of the day. Kushi is already the second-highest premiere day for Vijay Devarakonda and the best one for director Shiva Nirvana. The impressive pre-release buzz and the aggressive promotional content seemed to have worked big time for Kushi.
Vijay Devarakonda’s previous outing Liger had a terrific start with $ 505 K from premieres before tanking heavily and turning out to be a colossal flop. But, there is no impact on Kushi as it took a solid start there. It has already surpassed the premieres of Vijay’s biggest blockbuster Geetha Govindham ( $ 403K). Kushi is likely to end up in the range of $ 525K – $ 550K range.
The early reports are encouraging and the first weekend is going to be very strong. Mythri Movie Makers is the production house behind this film.
