BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has criticized the new “brew tax,” alleging it targets figures like Bhatti, Revanth, and Uttam. Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday, he claimed that this tax is part of a scheme by Congress to exploit the state. KTR referred to these leaders as “blood-soaked tigers,” suggesting that they will soon open shops and excise outlets, potentially harming the construction sector and driving industries away.
KTR highlighted that Congress has been out of power for ten years and introduced the brew tax to pay tribute to Delhi. He warned that such policies could deter new industries and jeopardize existing ones. He also refuted Congress and BJP claims that no jobs were created during KCR’s tenure, stating that 2.32 lakh jobs were provided, with 95% going to locals. He challenged Congress, especially Revanth Reddy, to prove their claim of creating 30,000 jobs, questioning the timing of notifications, exams, and appointments.
KTR defended the BRS government’s track record, noting that they issued notifications for 2.37 lakh vacancies. He questioned Congress’s job creation during united Andhra Pradesh, accusing them of violating presidential orders and neglecting Telangana youth under the non-local quota system. He emphasized that under BRS, a 95% local reservation quota has been implemented, a policy unmatched by any other state. During Congress’s rule from 2004 to 2014, only 26,000 jobs were created, with just 10,000 for Telangana youth, compared to over 2 lakh jobs during BRS’s tenure.
