BRS Working President KT Rama Rao accused the Congress government of hiding the truth even though it knew in advance that there would be an accident in the SLBC tunnel. He criticized the government for ignoring two reports that warned of an accident in the SLBC tunnel. He expressed anger that the government had gone ahead with a reckless attitude, risking the lives of workers.

KTR revealed that the government carried out works only for commissions hiding two reports that suggested declaring the area where the work was being done as a red zone. He alleged that the accident happened in the red zone area as stated in those reports. He expressed his grief that the lives of eight families have been shattered.

He said that thousands of crores of public money have been wasted. He demanded that the entire cabinet along with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy should be held responsible for this accident and sought a clarity on the issue of these two reports. He said that an investigation be conducted under the auspices of a High Court judge.

KTR asked for full details on this issue on behalf of the families of the eight people who lost their lives and the people of the state. He demanded that responsibility be taken for this accident. Meanwhile, 13 days have passed since the accident in the SLBC tunnel, but the whereabouts of the 8 workers trapped inside have not been found.

Despite the efforts of the authorities and rescue teams, no progress is being seen. Disaster Management Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar said that cadaver dogs are being specially brought from Kerala to identify those trapped inside the tunnel.

On Thursday morning, District Collector Badawat Santosh along with IIT experts, Singareni technical experts, military officers, NDRF and officials held a review at the tunnel and gave directions. They went inside the tunnel.

They suggested that the soil be removed from one end and put on the escalator and divert the water to the other side and move forward. It was suggested that humans, along with Singareni staff, should work in coordination to remove the mud, using mechanical assistance.
