Former minister Kodali Nani asserted that the attack on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was a politically motivated and well-planned assault, suggesting that Jagan’s political adversaries orchestrated it because they couldn’t face him politically. Speaking to the media on Sunday, Nani alleged that the attack was instigated by Chandrababu Naidu, citing previous election-related incidents. He claimed that during a recent visit to Thullur, Chandrababu made inflammatory remarks, inciting the attack on Jagan. Nani contended that the attackers intended to use a gun but missed their target due to the chaotic campaign environment, accidentally hitting Jagan’s eye. Despite surviving the attack, Jagan faced criticism from some quarters, which Nani denounced as uncivilized.
Nani also referred to electoral surveys predicting significant victories for YSRCP, suggesting that frustrated political elements were behind the attack. He highlighted a separate incident targeting an Ambedkar statue in Vijayawada, insinuating a broader conspiracy against the CM’s life. Nani demanded heightened security measures, including black cat security, for CM Jagan’s protection.
