Story:

Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas and Anupama play a young couple deeply in love in the horror thriller ‘Kishkindhapuri’. Together, they run unique ghost-walking tours, taking thrill-seekers to abandoned bungalows. With cleverly crafted setups, they make their visitors truly believe the places are haunted, offering an immersive and spine-chilling experience.

While on one such tour, Raghav and Mythili and their group go to Suvarnamaya Radio Station close to Kishkindhapuri—a station that has been out of use since 1989. While beginning as a standard tour, soon turns to horror as they realize the station is haunted.

The suspense of the film hinges upon engaging questions that will hold people’s attention: Who is the ghost in a deserted station? Why is it haunting individuals and sending sinister signals? And what compels Raghav to confront the ghost, risking his own life? These enigmas are the focal suspense of the film.

Review:

Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas comes through in ‘Kishkindhapuri’ with a performance that matched the feel and energy of the film’s intense and suspenseful narrative perfectly. His action scenes and modulation of his diction to mimic the characters’ renditions added a layer of authenticity, engaging the viewer.

Anupama Parameswaran was terrific in terms of being effortlessly natural and emotionally poise on camera beautifully – thus adding great depth and relevance to her character. Tanikella Bharani places an important role that is exceptional, adding significant gravitas to his performance, and Srikanth Iyenger is very solid and plays a strong consistent support role. The supporting cast—led by Hyper Aadi, Sandy Master, and Makarand Deshpande gives depth to the narrative, making the overall experience watchable.

Veteran actress Prema is memorable for her understated and compelling performance. Though she is glamorous on screen, she is warm and natural as the mother, investing the horror story with emotional depth.

Director Koushik Pegallapati applies a new methodology to narrating the story, dealing with the horror moments of the film meticulously. The timely turns in pivotal scenes create tension and leave audiences in suspense. Although ghost and spirit stories are common in Telugu films, the movie adds new elements to the genre that provide it with a distinct competitiveness. The horror effects are executed effectively, amplifying suspense and thrills.

The movie has a few minor shortcomings. Some key sequences progress slowly, and the initial conflict could have been presented more dynamically. A few logical gaps are noticeable, and while the first half is engaging, tighter writing might have made the story even more compelling.

On the technical side, Chetan Bharadwaj’s background score adds to the horror ambiance, and Chinmay Salaskar’s camera work captures aesthetically pleasing and natural settings. Niranjan Devaramane’s editing maintains the narrative flow constant, and producer Sahu Garapati maintains high production standards.

Overall, ‘Kishkindhapuri’ succeeds as a gripping horror thriller. With strong performances, solid technical execution, and an engaging storyline, Koushik Pegallapati delivers a film that keeps audiences hooked, balancing spine-chilling scares with emotional depth.
