Kishan Reddy slams Rahul Gandhi For claiming PM Modi `Lost confidence’ In J&K polls

Saturday, September 28, 2024

Union Minister and BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir Election Incharge G Kishan Reddy strongly objected to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s claims during the election campaign in the border state that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has “lost confidence”. He asserted that 1.4 billion Indians have unshockable trust and confidence in the leadership of PM Modi.

On the other hand, he alleged that it is Rahul Gandhi who has lost confidence in Indian democracy and has resorted to undermine and disrespect the key institutions of Indian democracy, including Parliament, the office of the Speaker, and even the country’s highest constitutional bodies, such as the Supreme Court and the Election Commission.

Kishan Reddy deplored that Rahul’s unfounded criticisms have also extended to questioning revered institutions like the Indian Armed forces, aligning himself with anti-national forces, and resorting to divisive politics by exploiting caste and religion for electoral gains. Levelling unsubstantiated allegations against the Prime Minister and the Union government has become a hallmark of his political rhetoric, he added.

Stating that the electoral record speaks for itself, Kishan Reddy recalled that even when combined, the number of seats the Congress party has won in the last three elections does not come close to what the BJP has achieved on its own. In the 2024 elections, the BJP won more seats than the entire opposition alliance combined.

A party that once ruled India for 60 years has now been relegated to double digits for three consecutive elections. Yet, despite such resounding defeats, he lamented that Rahul Gandhi insists on spreading misinformation and making hollow accusations against the Prime Minister.

Kishan Reddy pointed out that Rahul Gandhi’s alliance with questionable forces during the Jammu and Kashmir election campaign reflects his lack of faith in his own prospects. Moreover, he said that his ally, Omar Abdullah, is contesting two seats, signaling a lack of confidence in even securing one.

Even within the Congress party, he said that confidence in Rahul Gandhi has eroded, especially after his repeated attempts to malign India’s reputation on foreign soil. His political acumen is questionable and he lacks any serious understanding of governance, he added.

If he did, Kishan Reddy advised him that he would first review the accomplishments of Prime Minister Modi over the past 100 days before making such reckless statements. After losing three consecutive Lok Sabha elections, it is Rahul Gandhi himself who appears to have lost confidence, he said, resorting to divisive tactics that harm the country’s progress and unity.
