In a major development, former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan has been arrested by Andhra Pradesh Police in Hyderabad. The arrest took place at My Home Bhooja in Raidurg, and officials have started the process of shifting him to Vijayawada for further legal proceedings.
Vamsi, who was earlier linked to the attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office in Gannavaram, is now facing new legal trouble.
The Patamata police in Vijayawada have registered a case against him under BNS Sections 140(1), 308, 351(3), and 3(5). Additionally, he has been booked under the SC/ST Atrocities Act, intensifying the legal challenges he is facing. Authorities have also served official notices at his residence.
The controversy deepened as Vamsi and his aides were accused of kidnapping and threatening TDP office operator Satyavardhan to force him to withdraw a complaint.
Reports suggest that during police questioning, Satyavardhan revealed that he was abducted by Vamsi’s associates, taken to court in a car, and pressured to retract his complaint. Based on this statement, the police have filed a kidnapping case against five individuals, including Vallabhaneni Vamsi.
This arrest has sparked significant political discussion, with speculation about its impact on Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape. More updates are expected as the case progresses.
