The efforts made by AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge himself to appease several senior leaders who were upset by their aspirations for ministerial posts have failed to convince them. Despite being invited by Kharge for discussions, Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy and Adi Srinivas did not attend, and another MLA Premsagar Rao left the meeting midway.

Mallikarjuna Kharge, who arrived on a state visit on Thursday, met several leaders separately, who were upset after they were denied cabinet berths, at Taj Banjara in Hyderabad. Ibrahimpatnam MLA Malreddy Rangareddy has requested that the Congress party protect him as a senior leader in the previous government, but that none of them were given a chance in our government, and that he be given a chance as a senior leader in the party.

Kharge said that the Congress party will protect you as a senior leader, but due to some adjustments, they could not adjust to the Rangareddy district. Malreddy has said that if social adjustments are the obstacle, he will resign as an MLA, and if you put the leader of that community in his place, he will get them to win by a close margin.

Devarakonda MLA Balunayak has expressed his regret that if 80% of the STs vote for the Congress party and bring it to power, then we will not get proper justice in the party. His followers say that after hearing his words, Kharge has assured that he will soon get a suitable position. It is learnt that Kharge has also assured another MLA, Sudarshan Reddy, that he will soon give him a good opportunity.

Premsagar Rao told Kharge that he had stood by the Congress party during its difficult times and had tried to strengthen the party and bring it to power in the combined Adilabad district. Responding to this, Kharge said that the party had recognized his services and that it was not possible to give him a ministerial post due to various arrangements and that there was no possibility of giving him one in the future.

Kharge had requested him to take the post of Chief Whip instead of a ministerial post. However, Premsagar Rao left the meeting saying, “A thanks for you and your politics.” Congress leaders say that even though Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka tried to appease him, Premsagar Rao left without listening.
