Amaravati: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) corporator Kesineni Swetha, following her father Kesineni Nani, resigned from her post and TDP membership, citing personal reasons. Swetha, representing the 11th division in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, submitted her resignation to Mayor Rayana Bhagya Lakshmi and TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Kesineni Nani had earlier announced his intention to leave TDP after being asked to stay away from a public meeting.
Kesineni Swetha, reluctant to leave TDP, stated that continuing was meaningless when the party didn’t want her. She had contested her corporator position despite potential challenges under YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government.
