BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha expressed deep anger that the Congress government has issued notices to former CM and BRS chief KCR in a conspiratorial manner. She alleged that the notices were issued to KCR with political malice and asked if KCR was wrong in bringing water and funds to Telangana?
Kavitha organized a mahadharna under the auspices of Jagruti at Indira Park, protesting against the Kaleshwaram Commission notices to KCR. She made it clear that the Kaleshwaram project does not mean three barrages and 21 pump houses, but Kaleshwaram is bringing water to 35 percent of Telangana’s territory.
A large number of Jagruti activists participated in this dharna. But BRS leaders kept away from this dharna. On the other hand, Kavitha indirectly criticized former minister KTR for not fighting when notices were given to KCR. On this occasion, Kavitha warned that they cannot tolerate issuing notices to KCR, who gave water to Telangana.
She asked why Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was silent when his mentor Chandrababu Naidu was attempting to hijack Godavari waters in the name of Banakacharla? She wondered ]that Revanth Reddy did not have the courage to write a letter to the central government to stop the Banakacharla project? She demanded Revanth Reddy to write a letter Immediately to the Apex Council and the center.
Referring some damages to barrages, Kavitha said that small problems are normal when big projects like Kaleshwaram are built. She asked for the repair of the sagging Medigadda pillar. She accused that two union ministers from Telangana- Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay are also silent on the Banakacharla project, as the Narendra Modi-led government at the center is depending upon Chandrababu Naidu’s support for its survival.
Kavitha wondered if even Telangana’s child Etala Rajender was silent on it. She appealed to Etala to speak on behalf of Jagruti. She advised him not to keep his mouth shut and spread slander. She urged Etala Rajender to take special responsibility for the interests of Telangana. She announced that they will hold a movement under the auspices of Jagruti until 1,000 TMC of water is available in Godavari.
