‘Kannappa’ is an upcoming big-budget pan-India film which revolves around the life history of Bhakta Kannappa, a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva. Telugu actor Manchu Vishnu, who is playing the titular role besides bankrolling it on a huge budget, used all his influence and connections in different film industries and roped in several actors on board for this mythological spectacle and they all said yes out of respect on his father Mohan Babu. However, the buzz around this epic saga is very underwhelming.
Even though the team has been frequently unveiling the first look posters of the ensemble cast from multiple languages, there is hardly any hype for the film. Interestingly, Manchu Vishnu convinced pan-India superstar Prabhas to be a part of this ambitious project and his presence is going to be the biggest draw for its box office prospects.
Vishnu and his team are hoping that Prabhas will turn out to be the saviour for this film. They are confident that his massive popularity and fame across the country will generate significant buzz for Kannappa. To augment the buzz on the film, they are now going to unveil the first look poster of the Baahubali actor on February 3rd.
As per reports, Prabhas will appear as an incarnation of Lord Shiva in this film. A sneak-peek of his look is out today morning and he appears with Viboodhi on his forehead and a lot intensity in his eyes along with a powerful Trishul. Prabhas will be seen in an extended cameo in this film and the team banks on his wide charisma across different languages.
Vishnu is hoping that the presence of other stars like Akshay Kumar, Mohan Lal, Kajal Aggarwal, Sarath Kumar, Mohan Babu and many others will create a strong impact before its release. But, the reception for Prabhas’ look is likely to be the key for the pre-release buzz on the film.
The movie, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, is all set for a grand pan-India launch on April 25 and will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and English.
