Director Mani Ratnam’s much-hyped film Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan, Trisha, and Silambarasan (Simbu), has taken the digital route earlier than expected. Despite the massive expectations and a powerhouse cast, the film failed to impress audiences and critics alike, receiving lackluster reviews from its very first day at the box office.
With the theatrical run falling short, speculation quickly arose about the film’s early arrival on OTT — and now, that buzz has turned into reality. Thug Life is officially streaming on Netflix, which bagged the post-theatrical digital rights for a significant price.
Interestingly, it was initially believed that the Hindi version might release at a later date, but to everyone’s surprise, it too has dropped simultaneously. The movie is now streaming available in five languages — Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada — providing broader reach for countrywide audiences.
