The Agrigold land scam case is tightening the trap around the family of former minister and YCP leader Jogi Ramesh. The ACB court remanded Jogi Ramesh’s son Jogi Rajeev, who was arrested on Tuesday, till August 23. ACB Additional SP Soumya Latha said that it was found lands at Ambapuram were purchased and sold in the survey numbers of Agrigold lands confiscated by CID.
Jogi’s son Rajeev and surveyor Ramesh were arrested in this case. The sins of former minister Jogi Ramesh’s family are coming out one by one in the ACB investigation. Agrigold lands in Vijayawada Rural Ambapuram village are under CID attachment.
In this regard, clear instructions were issued on 8th August 2018 with GO No. 117 and on 17th October 2019 with GO No. 133. According to ACB, 2,160 square yards of land in survey number 88 was purchased by Jogi Ramesh’s son Jogi Rajeev and Ramesh’s father Jogi Venkateswara Rao and the land records were altered and the survey number was also changed.
Soumya Latha said that the land in survey number 88 was bought and converted into survey number 87 and sold. She said that the village surveyor has contributed to this. ACB officials who inspected Jogi Ramesh’s house identified Jogi Rajeev as A1 in the Agrigold land transaction case. Jogi Ramesh uncle Venkateswara Rao is said to be A2.
Based on the FIR registered by Mangalagiri CID police on 2nd of this month, ACB has registered cases against Jogi Ramesh’s son, his family members and government employees under six sections. Cases were registered under sections 420, 409, 467, 471, 120(B), 34. Cases have been registered against Rajeev and 7 others in the Agrigold land case in Ambapuram.
Jogi Rajeev was arrested and interrogated at the ACB office in Gollapudi. A preliminary investigation by the police revealed that some government employees were involved in corruption and abuse of power in the case of Agrigold land transactions.
DGP Dwarka Tirumala Rao has directed the ACB to conduct a thorough investigation into the illegality. A case was registered according to the findings of the investigation.
