AMaravati: V V Lakshminarayana, the ex-joint director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), recently formed the Jai Bharat Party. He has decided not to run for the Lok Sabha elections from Visakhapatnam parliamentary constituency in Andhra Pradesh, opting instead to contest the state assembly elections from Visakhapatnam (north) assembly constituency.
The shift in his decision was announced on Friday without specifying the reasons behind it. While this decision indicates a focus on the state assembly elections, it remains unclear whether Lakshminarayana will also vie for the Lok Sabha seat in Visakhapatnam. Despite establishing his party office in Visakhapatnam and actively campaigning for the parliamentary seat, he seems to be reconsidering his strategy. Perhaps, he perceives a better chance of winning the assembly seat, particularly given the opportunity to challenge BJP candidate and former MLA P Vishnu Kumar Raju in the Visakhapatnam (north) constituency.
