Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has been busy preparing everything to change his location from Amravati to the city of Vizag. Sources from the AP Secretariat have shed some light on this new development.
According to people close to the CM, Jagan is in search of building his camp office in Vizag to completely shift the capital from Amravati on the 22nd of March, marking the auspicious day of ‘Ugadhi’ as a part of his three capital promises. Jagan earlier at a curtain raiser event on Global Investors Summit invited the delegates to the AP’s new capital Vizag and backed his invitation by claiming that he was also in the process of shifting his base. Now the recent developments in the city of Vizag suggest that the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) is in search of a perfect place to set up the new CMO, especially in the region of MVP Law College. Earlier Jagan wanted to camp at the Rushikonda but it was ruled out as the construction won’t be completed by the Ugadhi.
This is indeed a clever move from the YSRCP Chief as it would give some accountability on his three capitals’ promises also since the Capital issue is in Supreme Court and it might take forever for the result, CM is cleverly using the gap to his gain. Meanwhile, the Amaravati farmers are protesting against the decision of shifting capital from Amravati deserting their lands.
