Jagan to give clarity on 3 capitals in budget sessions?

Thursday, December 19, 2024

The ruling party of AP, YSRCP has been using the weapon of three capitals to woo the voters of all the regions of Andhra Pradesh since it gained power in 2019. However, neither Jagan nor his ministers are talking about it in recent times. For those who are waiting for clarity on AP’s future capital, sources from the CM camp state that February month would have a much-needed update on this issue.

Jagan banked on the three capital rule which was pretty odd for any state in India but he managed to make it resound across the commoners stating the decentralization of Power. He opted for Kurnool as the Judicial capital but the HC was still in Amaravati. Then he wanted to make Vizag the executive capital leaving Amravati only for the Secretariat. For the last year, YSRCP Government is active in Vizag, especially in the Rushikonda region and they are even constructing a camp office for Jagan. This new speculation is that Jagan will go for one capital that is Vizag rather than three capitals.

The latest information from Jagan’s camp suggests that even though the courts rejected the three capital things, the CM is keen on presenting the bill in the upcoming Budget Assembly sessions that are going to be held in February. We will have a clear-cut idea whether Jagan goes back again for three capital rules for which he didn’t even start any work in practice or to shift the entire thing to Vizag. Oppositions however blame the ruling party for grabbing public lands in the name of decentralization, especially in Vizag.
