Ahead of the grand oath-taking ceremony by Chandra Babu Naidu as the new Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, invitations have been sent to dignitaries from different fields to attend the event in Vijayawada on Wednesday. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minster Amit Shah along with a few other BJP bigwigs are expected to grace the event, it is very clear that outgoing CM Jagan Mohan Reddy will not attend it.
As per reports, Chandra Babu Naidu tried to contact Jagan and invite him for the swearing-in ceremony. However, there was no response from the YSRCP president. It is heard that Jagan was contacted several times by Naidu yesterday evening, but he remained inaccessible for phone calls and did attempt to take the call. It is not yet known if anyone from the YSRCP will attend the event on behalf of Jagan and his party.
It is a tradition on the part of political parties to invite their opponents for oath taking ceremonies and other significant events of the state. Sources revealed that Jagan is unable to digest the humiliating defeat in the elections.
Meanwhile, prominent personalities from the film industry like Megastar Chiranjeevi, Superstar Rajinikanth, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun and many others have been invited for the historic event. Rumors are rife that no invitation was sent to Nandamuri actor NTR for Naidu’s oath which is scheduled to take place at 11.27 am near Medha IT Park opposite Gannavaram Airport in Kesarapalli on the outskirts of Vijayawada.
