AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is a frustrated man as he failed to secure the three MLC seats of Graduates and Teachers despite being in power and 151 sitting MLAs in his quiver. The CM has started some damage control measures as this defeat would influence the upcoming general elections of 2024.
Jagan and his YSRCP Ministers expressed their full confidence in winning the recently held MLC elections with ease and grace. However, the results shook the YSRCP to the core and turned their confidence upside down. In this regard, Ministers and MPs who kept reiterating that winning was a piece of cake for the YSRCP were asked for genuine reasons by none other than the YSRCP Chief Jagan. Sources close to the ruling party stated that Jagan had given full responsibility to the Ministers in making the MLAs maintain a close relationship with the general public thereby winning their trust and votes. Since it failed miserably, Jagan is blaming Ministers and MPs more than MLAs.
At this juncture, Jagan warned all the leaders from first-time MLAs to the so-called senior most Ministers not to give tickets unless they better their progress in their respective constituencies. YSRCP leader’s primary target is to make voters understand all the incentives the State Government is providing. Already Avinash Reddy and Bhaskar Reddy’s alleged links to the YS Viveka’s murder case have become a huge headache for the YSRCP. Now the MLC polls just added additional pressure on the ruling party.
