Though the new government is working hard to create a positive environment for potential investors to look towards Andhra Pradesh to invest liberally in the state, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that fear of `J’ (Jagan) demon is haunting them. He has reportedly shared with his cabinet colleagues at the cabinet meeting on Tuesday on the problems being faced in attracting new investments into the state.
Industrialists always seek stable policy initiatives from the government to invest in a state. However, Naidu said fear of Jaganmohan Reddy may return again in future elections, creating fear among them to look towards the state. However, he assured that the government is doing everything to remove such fear among them.
Revealing his experience of meeting several potential investors during the last one month inviting them to invest in the state, the Chief Minister said that most of them are positive and particularly in view of the track record of previous TDP regimes they feel comfortable to deal with the present government also. But, he said there is a fear in them that the ghost will come again.
All the other ministers laughed when one minister suggested that the people of the state buried the demon in a bottle so that it would not rise again. Not only investors, but also people of the state in general feel free now from land encroachments and hooliganism. Now they are also happy they can procure sand for small needs without meeting threats from goons.
In this regard, Chandrababu advised the need to enhance a positive environment with our performance. He advised them that every minister should focus on improving their performance. Asking new ministers to concentrate on gaining experience in administrative procedures, he said even senior ministers also need to be in a mood to learn new things.
“Even after more than four decades of public life, every day I feel like learning new things. I am aware I don’t know many things and I need to gain knowledge on many issues. Such an attitude is necessary for everyone for better performance in their tasks”, Naidu told ministers.
Moreover, Chandrababu cautioned them that ministers should ensure their family members should not involve themselves in official activities and they should receive public service in a pleasant way. In view of severe financial problems the state is facing, he suggested they attend first issues that are not needed financial commitments.
