Guntur East MLA Nazeer Ahmed recently found himself at the center of controversy as tensions erupted within his own party. The incident took place during a local event in Guntur city’s First Division, where a group of TDP leaders expressed displeasure over the MLA attending the program without informing them. The situation quickly spiraled into a heated confrontation, culminating in an alleged assault attempt.
Syed Intiyaz, the division’s TDP president, was joined by his brother Fairoz, a former election candidate and now the city TDP vice president, along with their relative Riaz. The trio reportedly confronted Nazeer Ahmed on stage, questioning his decision to participate in the event without prior communication. The argument escalated, leading to an attempt by Intiyaz and Fairoz to physically attack the MLA, even grabbing his shirt. Police intervened promptly, restoring order and providing security to the MLA.
A formal complaint has been filed, and an investigation is currently underway. Initial reports suggest that the MLA sustained minor injuries during the scuffle.
This incident has highlighted deepening divisions within the TDP ranks in Guntur East, raising questions about internal party unity. The TDP leadership is reportedly examining the matter closely to address the discord and prevent similar conflicts in the future.
