Hyderabad: According to media reports, the Telangana government is set to launch the ‘Indiramma Housing Scheme’ for the impoverished on March 11, 2024. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to ensure that all eligible individuals without homes benefit from the scheme. Guidelines for fund disbursement in stages are to be finalized, with a tentative plan to allocate 3,500 houses per constituency.

Under the scheme, Rs 5 lakh aid will be provided for home construction to those owning a housing plot, while those without a plot will receive both a plot of land and Rs 5 lakh. This initiative will be one of the six guaranteed programs, as reported. Priority will be given to applicants in the Praja Palana portal, with strict measures in place to prevent fund misuse. Various house models and designs will be made available, and engineering wings in different departments, supervised by District Collectors, will oversee construction.
