India will soon have the country’s first underwater metro in Kolkata, giving commuters a once-in-a-lifetime experience. According to Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation, the East-West Corridor Project should be finished by June 2023. (KMRC). The metro line will have a section below the Hooghly river and connect Salt Lake City to Howrah through Kolkata. The project, which was initially expected to be finished by December 2021, has been delayed as a result of mishaps that occurred when the tunnel was being built in a central Kolkata neighbourhood.
