India’s first Transmedia Entertainment City will be set up soon in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It will be called Creatorland. Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh revealed that the Andhra Pradesh government and Creativeland Asia have signed an agreement to this effect at the Waves Summit-2025 being held in Mumbai.
According to the MoU, Creativeland is expected to attract investments of Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 10,000 crores in five to six years. There is a possibility of creating 1.50 lakh jobs. As Minister Durgesh is currently in Vietnam, Tourism Department MD Amrapali, Creativeland Studios founder Sajanraj Kurup, Global Advisory Board representatives from Hollywood David Unger, CEO Artists International, Global Gate Managing Director William Pifer, and Nicholas Granatino Chairman Novaquark signed the MoU.
Recently, Creativeland Asia representatives met Minister Durgesh at the Amaravati Secretariat to discuss the matter. It was then that they agreed to set up an entertainment city in the presence of the minister. Theme parks, gaming zones, and global cinema co-production zones will be set up to immerse visitors. An artificial intelligence-based virtual studio complex will also be designed through Creativeland Academy to provide skills to the youth.
There is a possibility of creating more than 1.50 lakh jobs in the fields of AI, R&D, VFX, gaming, entertainment, tech and tourism. Minister Durgesh explained that this MoU will contribute to job creation, skill development, tourism and digital innovation. He said that the partnership with Creativeland Asia is like a milestone in the development of film and entertainment tourism in the state.
The Minister said that the establishment of Creatorland will improve the economy along with entertainment through a world-class production hub. Tourism Department MD Amrapali said that the tourism sector will get further boost with the innovations of the Creatorland project.
He said that it will help increase the reputation of AP on the global creative map. Sajanraj Kurup, founder of Creative Land Asia, said that joining hands with the Andhra Pradesh government will further encourage the future of entertainment, education, and innovation.
