As Look Out Notices were issued against YCP general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, against leaving the country, the immigration officials said to have stopped him at Mumbai Airport, when he was on his way to Hyderabad from a USA tour. However, he was allowed to travel after Guntur SP Satish Kumar suggested not to detain him as he is having Supreme Court protection.
DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao has confirmed on Tuesday that Guntur SP has issued a look-out notice against Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy to avoid him from leaving the country. Sajjala, who is accused in the case of the attack on the TDP central office in Mangalagiri, was stopped by immigration officials at the Mumbai airport on Monday.
Sajjala expressed anger at the concerned authorities and said that he was coming from abroad and there were no cases. It is learned that Sajjala questioned why he was being stopped even though he was under protection from the Supreme Court. Then, the immigration officials informed Guntur SP about him, who responded immediately,
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy is the 120th accused in the TDP office attack case. However, the police officials said that some names were repeated in the list of accused and after ascertaining the real accused, the remaining names will be deleted.
Police sources said that look-out notices were issued against him 15 days ago. The police officials have made it clear that Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy can be questioned even though he is currently under the protection of the Supreme Court.
As the case has now been transferred to the CID, police sources revealed that there is a possibility that the concerned authorities may send notices to him for investigation. During the YCP regime, as advisor to the government, he allegedly played the role of a `defacto chief minister’ and yielded authority on all the departments and also ministries. Even ministers used to be accountable to him.
