Both Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and BRS working president KT Rama Rao get a relief from the Telangana High Court on Wednesday, as the Court has quashed two different cases registered against them.
While the case against Revanth Reddy was filed during BRS regime in 2020 for flying a drone over KTR’s Janwada farmhouse, the case was filed against KTR recently during Congress regime for making derogatory remarks against the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
A case was registered against Revanth Reddy and a few others in Narsingi PS in March 2020 for flying a drone over former minister KTR’s Janwada farmhouse. In this case, Revanth Reddy was arrested when he was in the opposition and sent to police remand. He filed a petition in the High Court to quash the FIR.
Revanth Reddy’s lawyer, while hearing arguments, told the bench that Janwada was not a prohibited area and that wrong sections had been registered against CM Revanth Reddy.
The government lawyer also explained to the court that the area where the drone was flown was not on any prohibited list. After hearing the full arguments, the court issued orders quashing the FIR registered against CM Revanth Reddy in Narsingi PS.
Meanwhile, the High Court has also issued orders quashing the case registered against former minister KT Rama Rao in Saifabad police station. The Saifabad police registered a case against KTR based on a complaint filed by MP Anil Kumar Yadav that he had spoken in a manner that was derogatory to CM Revanth Reddy.
Former minister KTR filed a quash petition in the High Court to quash the FIR registered by the police. During the investigation, the public prosecutor told the court that former minister KTR, who was in a responsible position, spoke at will and spoke in a manner that was derogatory to the CM.
However, KTR’s lawyer argued that the case was registered against former minister KTR due to political differences. The High Court, after considering the arguments of both sides, dismissed the FIR.
Moreover, it may be recalled that the Telangana ACB had recently registered cases against former minister KTR in this formula A race. He was summoned for questioning several times and senior police officers collected statements from him.
